Skywright's Guild
Air travel is one of the most essential parts of modern society in Yrdde. Not all colonies are truly self-sufficient and rely on a constant stream of trade caravans to stay functional.
Over the past few hundred years, air travel technology has advanced from crude flying machines that were little more than rudimentary wings to massive air carriers with crews numbering in the hundreds. Society as it exists would not function without these vessels, and their design, creation, and repair is handled by the Skywright's Guild, by far the largest guild on Yrdde. While independent mechanics and builders do exist, most will only trust the skills of those with legitimate guild certification.

History
The origins of the Skywrights Guild can be traced back to the very first humans who dared to dream of flight. Legend whispers of a skilled engineer who, inspired by the soaring flight of hawk chimera, constructed a crude vessel from woven reeds, stretched hides, and a carefully carved Yrddestone that harnessed the wind’s power. As centuries passed and the desire to conquer the skies grew, small groups of skilled craftspeople emerged, banding together to share knowledge, improve upon ancient designs, and unlock the secrets of Yrddestone technology to refine airship construction. These disparate groups, recognizing the need for greater cooperation and standardized practices, ultimately united to form the Skywrights Guild. They established a headquarters in the heart of the nascent Empire, vowing to elevate their craft beyond mere experimentation into a respected art form. Their dedication to meticulous craftsmanship, the pursuit of aerodynamic perfection, and the advancement of aetherial engines made them vital to the expansion of both empires and commerce across Yrdde.Membership
Joining the Skywrights Guild demands both potential and commitment. Hopeful apprentices are meticulously assessed by Guild Masters, examining not only their practical skills but also their dedication to precision, their understanding of the dangers associated with airship construction, and their reverence for the beauty and complexity of their craft.Apprentices
Those showing a natural aptitude for mechanics, an intuitive understanding of the flow of energy, and a passion for airship design begin as apprentices, learning under the tutelage of experienced Skywrights. They serve as assistants, learn to identify different types of wood and metals, study the intricacies of Yrddestone integration, and gradually build up to assisting with more complex tasks.Journeymen
After years of training, those who demonstrate exceptional skill, dedication, and an eye for design, become Journeymen. They are capable of constructing simple airships, conducting repairs, and overseeing the work of apprentices. They can travel to different Guild chapters, gaining experience and broadening their knowledge of regional styles and techniques.Master Skywrights
The pinnacle of the Guild's hierarchy, Master Skywrights are those who have pushed the boundaries of their art. They have designed groundbreaking vessels, discovered new methods of Yrddestone integration, or demonstrated an unparalleled mastery of both traditional and cutting-edge techniques. They often have apprentices of their own and lead the most ambitious and prestigious construction projects.
