Seventeen

The origins of Seventeen are a mystery even to the Ravenmaster. His files, unlike those of most other recruits, contain only the name of the orphanage he was taken from, nothing else.   Those who oversee the Program's brutal training, however, remember him well. They recall a quiet, intense child, his eyes already hollow, his movements eerily precise. He absorbed knowledge with disturbing ease, excelled in combat simulations, and embraced every grueling physical challenge with an unsettling lack of hesitation. He did not form bonds with the other children; he saw them as obstacles, competitors, and, ultimately, targets to eliminate.   He completed the initial phases of his training with an unprecedented level of success. But it was his “graduation exercise,” a simulated mission designed to assess their adaptability and creativity, that truly etched his name in the darkest corner of the Ravenmaster's memory.   The entire class was left overnight in a locked training chamber mimicking a frigid forest, a test designed to teach the children to work together, relying on other Corsair agents to survive in an enviroment where their combat skills were useless. Seventeen emerged 'victorious' – the only survivor. The other children, all showing signs of brutal hand-to-hand combat, lay broken and lifeless around him.   The Ravenmaster, initially horrified, recognized an opportunity. Seventeen had, with a chillingly calculated efficiency, eliminated not only potential weaknesses but also any possible threat of betrayal. He would become a masterpiece, the embodiment of everything the program was designed to create. His mind was already broken, and his body was resilient enough to support magitech prosthecitics that would easily kill other recruits.   There is no recorded information of what happened after he left the Program, or why he is now working for the Arbiter Alastor.
