Kaskca’s story began on the distant fringes of Imperial society. Born in a small, nomadic community that roamed the sky-sea’s less-charted territories, she developed an early fascination with human airships – marvels of metal and magic that defied the winds and seemed to dance among the clouds.
While other young Chimera honed their hunting skills or practiced the subtle arts of their clan's traditions, Kaskca tinkered with salvaged airship parts, her nimble fingers deciphering the intricacies of aetherial engines and her mind absorbing the principles of flight with an almost instinctive understanding.
Against her clan’s better judgment, and fueled by a youthful ambition to prove her worth in a world dominated by humans, she applied to the prestigious Imperial Navy Academy, her exceptional piloting skills earning her a coveted spot despite the usual prejudices against Chimera.
The Academy, however, proved to be a cage too small for her wild spirit. She excelled in practical training, her reflexes and intuitive grasp of aerial maneuvers exceeding and shaming many of her classmates. But her disregard for authority, her penchant for late-night tavern brawls, and her rather enthusiastic fraternization with fellow recruits (both human and Chimera, much to the Academy’s scandalized disapproval) led to a series of disciplinary actions culminating in her expulsion - her dreams of becoming an Imperial pilot crashing and burning.
She found work as a caravan pilot, her skills too valuable to ignore despite her tarnished reputation. But her reckless flying and tendency to prioritize speed over safety (and the occasional unauthorized detour to a particularly enticing tavern), once again led to her dismissal, followed by a swift descent into less reputable ventures and a growing list of disgruntled employers. Blacklisted by the Empire’s major shipping companies, and labeled a unreliable drunkard by the few mercenary groups who’d once sought her talents, Kaskca found herself adrift.
