Ezra’s Clan roamed free, their howls echoing across windswept valleys and their lives governed by the ancient laws of the hunt. But Ezra, even as a pup, possessed a restless spirit, a curiosity that drew him beyond the boundaries of his clan's territory. He would sneak away, his senses captivated by the flickering lights and unfamiliar scents emanating from the distant human settlements. These clandestine excursions, however, led to conflict. His feral instincts and formidable Chimera strength clashed with human society's rules, leading to skirmishes with those who feared what they didn't understand.
When a fight with human children turned violent (a broken arm and a few well-placed canine nips), his clan, caught between their ancient pact of non-interference and pressure from wary human leaders, made a difficult decision. Ezra was exiled, cast out to wander alone, a punishment meant to both protect the clan and force the young Chimera to confront the consequences of his impulsive actions.
Cast into the wilds, Ezra was forced to rely on his instincts, his cunning, and his burgeoning connection to the wolf spirit that flowed through his very being. He honed his hunting skills, his movements as silent as falling snow, his senses as sharp as a winter’s wind.
But even as his solitary existence hardened him, forging a stoic demeanor and a distrust of outsiders, his longing for a sense of belonging never fully faded. He found a strange and unexpected solace in protecting the very human settlements he'd once scorned, his formidable strength and keen senses invaluable in defending them against raiding parties, mutated creatures, and even the occasional rogue magitech experiment that threatened to unravel the precarious balance of nature.
His heroic actions, however, drew unwanted attention. When he intervened in a dispute between human settlers and a ruthless Imperial official who exploited their community, the Empire’s iron fist fell upon him. Branded an outlaw and a danger to their authority, a bounty placed upon his head, he was forced to flee once again, this time far beyond the Empire's territory and reach.
