Generation Two Automatons

The Generation Two Automatons are a purely martial force by the time any player visits The Artifactorium. While basic programming and functions are still considered to be service and general security, the lack of an access key (like The Final Key) will result in aggressive action. The general plan of attack for a Gen Two would be to first try and subdue intruders with the grabbing clamp hand. If that fails, the Gen Two will revert to shoot first and ask questions later with the BFG. Presenting the access key will allow the holder and their companions to deactivate all aggressive actions of the gen two models.   The grapple hand is a moderate threat meant to subdue non-aggressive threats and will deal minor damage. (D&D 5e example: DC 12 DEX check or be grappled and take 1d6 bludgeon damage.)   The BFG is akin to a flame thrower. This is to be considered a deadly threat. (D&D 5e example: DC 18 DEX check, on success, take half damage, on failure take 4d6 fire damage.)   The adaptable armor allows the gen two to take damage and then reconfigure its protections for that effect. (D&D 5e example: On a successful hit, all further damage of that type will be considered resistant.)
Long after the fall of their creator, the automatons of the factory adapted in order to again find a useful function within the Artifactorium. The first phase of this adaptation included a retooling of line operations and removal of certain safety protocols which limited their ultimate design. Shortly following the retooling, entities from outside of DASTAR found a way to enter the facilities without an access key and caused considerable damage before leaving. This instituted the second round of retooling and adaptation which lead to a more martial configuration than the prior.   Ultimately, the generation two automatons surpassed their primary functions while continuing to provide basic service as originally configured. This included the integration of the Stone Industries Night Eyes low-light vision sensors, a version of the Bafflestone Adapt-Sheets for structural reinforcement, a modified prototype of the Bafflestone Fero-Chemical Gun (BFG), as well as the Stone Industries Grab-And-Hold 5000.
