Galactic Union

The Galactic Union (abreviated G-UN), are the old remains of the Union of Earth.

History

As the homeplanet became overcrowded the Union started to expand to the other planets in the Solar system and after a century of building it settled all the worlds and moons of the system.

With all of the system's resources now at its disposal it started to build outwards into the Oort cloud–The outer sphere of dwarf planets, asteroids, and comets–And started researching ways to reach nearby star systems. Launching its generation ships towards Alpha Centauri and Treegarden's Star in the early 2200s.

Once the first colonies were established in other star systems the construction of the first Slipgates were constructed. Now travel between stars would only take a few years instead of the decades if not longer of travel with the near lightspeed vessels.
