Tambasur Expanse
The Tambasur Expanse makes up the western portion of Armara's Galatis Desert, between the regions of Eburin to the north and Kesira to the south. The Expanse is mostly empty and governed by few organized powers, mostly left to the devices of its native groups. The tribes indigenous to the Expanse and the surrounding regions include the Shaskuns, Bishtis, Nuris, and Nzangas.
Geography
The Tambasur Expanse is a hot, dry wasteland where only the hardiest survive. While it is difficult to survive these conditions, it is even more difficult to follow any outlaw crazy enough to venture within the region. The desert is mostly flat and low-lying, with a single large lake in the middle, Lake Qharvahu, an important oasis for the tribes living within the region, and where most of them live.
History
The Tambasur Expanse was avoided by every empire on its periphery, with empires from the ancient Metvian Kuzin Empire to the Korsan Empire to the Kingdom of Pereshas defining the desert as the border with the 'uncivilized world', considering it an ocean none could cross. Despite this, tribes have lived within the vast expanse for possibly as long as 200,000 years.
