Markazic language

Markazic (Jenal Markaza) is a Eburian language spoken in the Markazi Islands, with 7.8 million native speakers and around 20 million L2 speakers in trading ports frequented by Markazi ships. It is within its own branch of the Eburian languages, having split off c. 3000 AF, though exhibits numerous loanwords from languages like Watabowi and Asharian. Due to the prevalence of the Markazi Republic all around Eridus, it has effectively become the lingua franca of international business and politics, often used in international negotiations and with signs in tourist-heavy areas of certain cities translated into Markazic.

Writing System

Markazic uses a version of the Korsic writing system, though with extra characters for G and Q (see: Korsan language).
