Maelstrom Hound
Maelstrom Hounds are ballistic, maniacal, corrupted beasts from the Savage Wastes, which are known to quite often tamed by Orcs and sold to Moon Elves for unknown purposes. The hounds give off an energy that often fills mortals with fear and a strong sense of dread.

Ecology and Habitats
Maelstrom hounds prefer regions or areas that have corruption similar to their home environment in the Savage Wastes but can survive outside of them. While in regions untouched by this corruption, they much more prefer darkness over light and may appear more aggressive in sunlight.
Dietary Needs and Habits
As carnivores, they eat primarily meat. They are able to digest plant life if meat is no readily available but over time, this can weaken them and stunt their growth and strength. If they get a smell of mortal blood and meat, if not tamed or domesticated properly, they can become even more feral, hunting down the source until they find it or end up dead themselves.
Behaviour
Untamed Maelstrom Hounds are feral, corrupted beasts that will hunt and kill any living creature it wants, for both sport and nourishment. They are considered semi-intelligent, but answer mostly to their natural instincts. Additionally, they are considered sentient due to being able to feel various emotions but are not sapient, like the Orcs or Humans. They can often be tamed by Beastmasters from Orc tribes. The method(s) of taming are a mystery to other races.

Domestication
Maelstrom hounds can be domesticated but have higher populations that are still wild. When tamed, they are considered just as aggressive as their wild counterparts but are a lot more obedient and only attack when ordered to by their handler or when they feel like their handler or themselves are in danger.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Due to their increased senses, faster speed and strength, they are used by Orcs primarily for hunting, protection and warfare. Moon Elves, however, seem to utilize their blood and other parts for dark rituals in addition to keeping as assassins and war hounds.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Maelstrom Hounds have an increased sense of smells and hearing. They are able to see into the thermal spectrum, aiding them in hunting and tracking. Unlike your average domesticated or wild dog/hound, these creatures are faster and stronger.
