Grand Lord of the Larrasu
Grand Lord is a title given to the leader of the Larrasu and Larrasu Council.
Requirements
In order to get this rank, one must have trained at least three squires to Lordship and have served on the council for at least two terms in addition to twenty or more years of service to the Order and the people of the Ancestor Isles.
Appointment
A candidate for this rank is chosen upon by the Council. Once a candidate has been selected, all Lords (non-council masters) & High Lords (council members) vote to see if they are elected into the position. If the candidate gets more than 61% of votes in his/her favor, they undergo a ceremony to be officially granted the rank/position.
Responsibilities
The Grand Lord's duties & responsibilities consist of, but aren't limited to, the following:
- Ensuring the council stays on course to serve their intended purpose.
- Mediate & take the final judgement/vote on matters the council is divided on.
- Overseeing the initiation of new scribes.
- Ensuring the order is acting according to local laws.
- Overseeing envoys from the order.
- Ensuring protection for any envoy, from outside the order, upon request.
Benefits
The Grand Lord receives no major benefits over any other members of the order. The few benefits they do enjoy are the following:
- The Grand Lord is generally held in high regard by those inside and outside the order.
- A private chambers, meditation room & office near the council chambers.
- Limited political pull with governments, usually used to help the Order or with the Order's missions, rather than selfishly for him/herself.
