Interplanetary Kinetic Impact Module
Abbreviated as IKIM, the Interplanetary Kinetic Impact Module is a type of weaponised booster that serves as the primary weapon of mass destruction in the systems. Consisting of a thruster and navigation module attached to an asteroid or other astral body of varying mass, the system uses velocity alone to direct this kinetic object towards the target, its navigation system capable to direct it to hit any large target with a fully variable yield and at a pre-programmed time.
Weaponizing meteors in this way is most certainly cheaper (and generally more powerful) than its classical alternative of nuclear weapons, yet due to the fact that IKIM relies on gravity and pulling objects that are often far away from their targets, it is unsuitable for hitting targets on a short notice and therefore exclusively a strategic weapons, as opposed to a tactical one.
