The Age of Enlightened Steam

Building on the adventurous age of the mid 19th century, and following in the footsteps of larger than life heroes, we see a world, not unlike our own, but bolder, more vivid. The edges of the map have not all been filled in and there is both mystery and intrigue to be had for any who are willing to go looking for it.   Ordinary life is punctuated the the crazy inventions of creative geniuses dismissively called Mad Boys, as they labor to unlock the future via steam, mechanical power and even the newly harnessed electricity. Some would use these innovations for the common good, others will attempt to define the common good with them.   Waiting in the shadows beyond all of this are hints that this world may not be all that there is to know. The edges of the map are indeed blurry, as are the sides, and the back, and the table it rests upon... It will take men of spirit, courage, dedication and above all passion to continue pressing onwards to test these boundaries and see which ones hold, and which ones give way to new frontiers.
