Donations for Design

YSLU allows anyone to request a design. Need a better mousetrap, a laser pistol with a bayonet, or affordable active camouflage? You can pay into projects that catch your eye on their SolarNet site and fund them. A large enough donation may even get you a dedicated team to open up a whole new project for what it is you need. 

Subscription Based Genius

YSLU's subscription model allows even relatively low income consumers to put their ideas into the aether. Some of these ideas are insane, some are outright stupid, but every once in a while a subscriber comes up with a genius notion that no academy-educated scientist or engineer would ever have thought of. Once these basic ideas have been researched and the skunkworks have cranked out a schematic for the fabricators, the real bidding war starts. All their research is sold to the highest offer, usually another gigacorporation.

Pauper's Gear

YSLU is considered "budget gear," though this isn't always fair. Some might prefer YSLU gear because it's light on their chits, but the designs are innovative and often feature customizability that you don't get with more refined products.
