Corsico Rulebook Summary
Game Overview
Corsico is a high-intensity, fast paced sport evolved from Old Earth baseball. Played on an expanded field with modified rules, Corsico combines physical skill, strategy, and technological innovation.
Field Layout
Increased distances between bases (150% of traditional baseball)
Traps set by defending team along base routes (nonlethal or LTL, as approved by game officials)
Five bases arranged in a hexagon. They are referred to as First (the topmost), East (top right), West (Top left) South (Bottom left) and Home (bottom right)
Gameplay
Runners choose their base route after First Base but must touch all bases to score. Only one player may be on any given base. A Defender or Outfielder who touches a runner with the ball eliminates that runner unless the runner is in physical contact with a base.
MAW technology:
Decreases ball and bat mass/gravity during swing and throw. The ball's mass/gravity is controlled by a neutral RI.
Exponentially increases mass/gravity before impact (ball ≈ 300 kg, bat ≈ 1500 kg)
Bat-ball collision results in high-speed, high-mass impact. Ear protection for players is heavily suggested.
Safety Precautions
Mandatory protective gear:
Reinforced armor suits
Impact-absorbing pads
Enhanced medical support on-site
Signed waivers that the players understand: Horrific injuries are common due to high-speed impacts
