AstraTech makes too many starships and too many starship parts. It's a known issue, one that ATI actually mocks their competitors over. One of their strategies is to flood the market with cheaper, better equipment to force their competitors to price match. This basically eliminates corporate and even megacorporate competition, leaving starship manufacturing to the gigacorporations alone. Their attempts to do the same with robots and weapons have met with limited success, but their endless manufacture of 15mm Rounds has certainly had an effect on the weapons landscape.
