Civilization and Culture

History

Mord

The ancient and powerful Mord was known to be the shadow of mankind. While they shared the same physical appearance, the Mord was in most ways dominant. With about twice the lifespan of a human, high-temperature resistance, and the enhanced ability to channel magic that was unrivaled by any species across the world, the Mord was known to be an all-powerful race. One unique trait that set the Mord apart from the rest of the humanoid species was the ability to communicate with the ancient dragonkin. However, a mysterious event led to the extinction of the Mord in the 200s of the Vanquished era. The civilization of the Thai’ari Mord came to an abrupt end, their existence was soon to be forgotten.

Ghoul

The treacherous and cunning Ghouls were known as the demons of the underworld. With pale skin and red/orange/yellow eyes, the Ghoul was able to take many shapes through history. The most common factor was their two-faced nature, in which they appeared in stunning beauty, but underneath were monstrous. They’ve been known to be the shadows of the elves because of their similarities. Nevertheless, they’re labeled as Thai’ari, or by the common tongue, Creature of the Underworld. Long before the Vanquished era, the Ghouls were wiped from existence by the Mord. The events that led to this annihilation remain unknown.

Cryaph

The Cryaph was a demonic hybrid of the Mord and Ghoul, which suffered from infection. They were known as wraiths by mankind due to their rotten skin and ghostlike tendencies. Appearance-wise, they had pale skin, no pigmentation, and frost-blue eyes. With the ability to merge themselves with a humanoid, the Cryaph was able to utilize the full strength of the host as well as use their own powers. However, without a host, they were unable to traverse through sunlight and were forced to live in the shadows of the world. The last Cryaph were said to have met their demise by the hand of mankind during the Vanquished era.
