Baron Lucanon

An elderly dwarven warrior and minor Deverenian nobility. His family bears a centuries old grudge against the High King which he has sworn to fulfill before he passes.

In the story...

Baron Lucanon is the original conspirator with Lord Kestrel, the two of them being old friends, though their relationship isn't entirely known. Making a fortune running mercenary companies into the North, he ascended from Company commander by purchasing his way into the Aristocracy via blood and gold. 
His estate in the Stormpass District has become the HQ for the coup against the High King, a project that Lucanon pursues with zeal. He was only recently made aware of his inability to truly take the field himself, and he is coming to terms with leaving his dream of a free Deverenian with the Conspirators.

History

Baron Lucanon is relatively well known amongst Deverenians who served as mercenaries or spent time on the Northern Borders. The eldest scion of the Thunderfist family, Lucanon began his journey as a mercenary in his father's company, the Thunder Hammers. Proving to be a shrewd strategist and master logician, he quickly took over the company and founded several more. Before long, his numerous companies pushed into the North and added a great amount of territory to the Deverenian kingdom. Much to Lucanon's dismay, most of the territory was quickly claimed by Prince Arcadis.
Lucanon is most famous for his title the "Wolf Killer", which originated from a small proxy war between his mercenary companies and the mercenary soldiers fielded by the rogue Northern states, mostly the Merchant Lorde Silke and the Black Baron Sieg. Putting no less than 10 companies into an early grave, the body count of "Wolves" that he slain was in the 100s.
When he retired, he signed over his companies to his two sons, Gromril Thunderfist and Hadrok Thunderfist. With his great fortune made, he retired to Igros to offer counsel to the various Princes for a fee. His personal House Guard are friends and family of his original company, all of them with too much gold to spend and too much time on their hands.
