The Followers of the Nameless

One of the most widespread faiths on the disc. The followers of the Nameless worship a single God, without gender, without form, without voice. They say the Nameless is found in wisdom and in truth. The bulk of the believers are scholars or lawmakers, though most people who believe do so without impacting their daily lives, simply offering a silent prayer at the start and end of each day. The priesthood itself is divided into three Orders.   The order of the Unspoken, believe that not only are names sacred, but all words are so, and therefore must be treated with care. To avoid accomplish this, members of the order of the unspoken take a lifelong vow of silence. They can be recognised by their patient, thoughtful manner and the chalk slate that they carry with themselves at all times.   The order of the Unseeing believe that, in order to understand the wisdom of the Nameless, they must look inside. In order to help them do this, they are blinded. Novices only wear blindfolds until they are ready to become Priests. Despite this severe commitment, they tend to be very sociable and are often found in travelling caravans or taverns telling stories. Even full priests wear symbolic silk blindfolds as a mark of their order.   The order of the Unseen believe that in order to understand the nameless, one must become nameless, forgotten by those around them. Their numbers and customs are completely unknown, even to the other orders. On occasions where no other option presents itself, they wear dark cloaks and full face masks, but for most people they are nothing more substantial than a voice behind a curtain or a note pinned to a door. Despite their enigmatic nature, they are one of the most sought after orders as their skill at gathering information is unparalleled.
