True Time Keeper

Time is nothing more than an illusion created by semi-intelligent beings. Its used to measure movment and allows unevolved minds to comprehend the universe in small bits of linear progression. The entirety of a reality in which everything exists and happens all at the same time is far too much for these small minds to comprehend. Time is nothing more than a made-up measurement of motion. It means nothing in the grand scheme of reality. The absence of movement, the frozen state of reality, is what is real. Learn that and you see everything at once and master it all.
- From the book, “A Treatise of Temporal Expansion and Contraction and the Singular Perambulation of Any One Person Across or Through Time” written by- The Wizard Laum

Made of gold, platinum, crystal and ruby, the True Time Keeper is a very mysterious and powerful device who's mystery is only exceeded by its power. We do however, know what it looks like.
Few beside The Wizard Laum have ever seen it, but it has been described by many. One unamed traveler of the Astal Plane once engimatically stated,
    "Dude, it is sooo sweet!"
It is unknown how or where he saw it, or how he was able to taste it.   The True Time Keeper has been described in many magical journals and texts as well as multiple stories and studies done by famous scholars and magic users and the descriptions are consistent across them all, despite no one being able to state exactly where or when they saw the artifact.

The device is always described as gold and platimun with a crystal face inset with one large ruby in its center and multiple rubys around the face and on the casing. Multiple filigree-like pointers and mysterious symbols made of gold and platform exist below the crystal face. A ticking sound can be heard coming from the device if held near the ear or the room is quiet enough, but no moving parts are visible. A knob is attached to the housing at what appears to be the top of the round casing, and a ring that attaches to a sturdy silver chain. The device does not appear to have a mechanism to open it and the knob neither moves or depresses.   It has been written is some annals that staring too long at the large ruby set in its center can cause loss of memory or even temporary madness.   The device is quite heavy for its size of about four inches in diameter and almost an inch thick, and it is always cool to the touch. It is unknown how this was discovered as no one but The Wizard Laum has ever held or even touched the device.
