Overview of content to be done during WorldEmber

What will I be writing for my 10,000 words?

The original plan, consisting of the vague 'complete all drafts' has struck me as likely being insufficient to account for all the stuff I'll have to write. Hence, while completing drafts will play a part, I will also be adding...

Major content!

Specifically, I intend on setting in writing 3 major 'things', which make up a significant reason of all the stuff I've been interested in (which is to say, the stuff I daydream about without actually writing anything):
1. The Inquisition
is an organisation I refer to often in my existing works. Officially, it is known as the Occult Defence Directorate, with the specific sub agency I reference most being Section-I. This agency is headed by my worlds main character, and the person whose Point of View many articles are written from (Slightly embarrasingly, he is also basically a self-insert with the same name as me, but smarter, cooler, stronger, magic using and generally more badass).   The O.D.D is tasked with defending the United Commonwealth from all threats of a magical or similarly unconventional nature, ranging from cult leaders feasting on their followers souls to become minor gods, or those who feast on souls to summon other gods, demons and other beasts.   While I have already gone through a partial overview of the organization in The Inquisition, a History , most of that stuff has been retconned, and is itself an incomplete history. I will be adding to the history of the organization, ithe sub- and supporting agencies within it, and its relations with the rest of the U.C. in seperate articles.
2. The United Commonwealth
is the political faction where most of my worlds major characters hail from, and serve. It's like a significantly larger and more powerful version of the EU that exists across the 12 Worlds, made up of varous nations jined together in an economic, political and military bloc. It is the single largest player in the 12 Worlds, and is the oldest major international alliance on them.   Specifically, I would like to create content to name and organise as many of the agencies, directorates, departments, committees and councils that make up the U.C. as I can, probably spread across a series of articles. This would build off some groundwork done by the article The United Commonwealthx Charter, or, the Greencastle Accords   One particular section of the United Commonwealth I would expand on is the Security and Intelligence community, the control of which is split among the member countries while still retaining various levels of central control. (Part of my interest is in the communty's plot relavance and influence, and anotehr is from reading too many Jack Ryan books).
3. The United Commonwealth Armed Forces
, split 'currently' (Since the whole thing runs at the same time as events on Earth) between the Army and the Navy, is one more major 'thing' I wish to expand on. With its numbers in the millions, and its budget in the trillions, and its command and control system constantly on the brink of collapse as member nations and central authority work out who manages what, the Armed Forces are obviously a major part of the world I am building. So much so that I have an entire story/history seperate from my POV character entirely about exploring the sheer size and power of the Armed Forces, from the eyes of a skilled officer climbing the ranks as he fights a (series of ) bloody war(s). (Of course, I'll probably never get around to actually writing any of it)   That being said, some of the articles I have planned revolve around the following:
  1. The Armed Forces Council, which provides civilian leadership, in the form of representatives of each member state who jointly make major decisions (which specific ones I will figure out soon).
  2. The General Staff, the professional body at the head of the Army, headed by the Chief of the General Staff, which provides day to day management of the Army.
  3. The Admiralty, headed by the Chief of the Admiralty Staff, which does the same thing for the navy.

Obviously, all this makes for quite a lot of writing, which is why I'm fairly confident that I'll be able to reach 10,000 words at least. Now, to (prepare to) go to sleep. See you in December!
