Cymbellin Starseeker

After the fall of Deadland and the subsequent influx of monstrous creatures, the gnomes' ancient homeland, once between Aelinar and Deadland, was overrun. Finally fleeing through the mountains, supposedly they found a new home in the forest of Cernon-Das. The illusionist Cymbellin, described in the legends only as "slightest among gnomes and shining like fireflies" with no recorded gender, is told to have hidden them "within treetops and 'neath toadstools and behind the veil of night", rendering the path through the forest impenetrable for the unwelcome before giving up magecraft forever, after Ruadryn's folly.
