Appearance: This plant resembles a cattail, but the head crackles with tiny sparks of electricity. Its stalk glows faintly blue, especially after a storm.
Properties & Effects:
Static Discharge: When touched, the plant releases an electric shock. A creature that touches it takes 1d8 lightning damage unless they succeed on a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw.
Storm Conductor: The Everspark Cattail attracts lightning. During a storm, creatures within 10 feet have disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws against lightning damage.
Harvesting: Properly handled (DC 14 Survival check), the cattail’s spark can be preserved and used as a battery for magical devices or to create Lightning Oil, a potion that grants resistance to lightning damage for 1 hour.
