Vindalmarok - Lord of Rancor
To some Vindalmarok is the god one prays to when they seek divine justice against those who have wronged them, or for aid in ones own search for vengeance. To others she is the source of all hatred in the world.
Unsurprisingly she appears as a malevolent being in a lot of myths and stories that speak of her, but these are often reductive and are usually far too humanising to have significant truth to them.
More abstract and poetic texts describe her as a sorrowful being. Lost in the labyrinth of mortal hate, attempting to make order from the darkest and most destructive of emotions by handing out punishments to those that have wronged the voices that whisper to her in their prayers. An endless and self perpetuating cycle of hate.
The truth is, no one really knows, and perhaps it's best that way.
