Goblinoids - Goblins, Hobgoblins, Bugbears and Verdan
Goblinoids originate from Sinellah. Their society is much more tribal and violent than that of most of the other civilisations of Thaeria but it's unclear if the Drow chose to live in the underdark beneath Sinellah because of the 'me first' attitude they share with Goblinoids or if the Goblinoids of Sinellah learnt their politics and social attitude from the Drow.
There is no doubt that from the perspective of the largely homogenised societies that occupy the rest of Thaeria that Goblin society is 'evil'. Slavery is common place, conniving and violence is just a part of day to day life and power is fleeting, as there is always someone ready to stab those who bear it in the back.
That said Goblins are not implicitly evil, their hierarchy and social organisation is, but many kind and caring goblinoids are horribly oppressed by the culture that bore them, and seek asylum. Indeed the peaceful and curious Verdan are entirely appropriated by the nearby countries of Kem Maldur and Alagrad, though many academics believe that it is more than just mere evolution that caused their particular divergence from their Goblin cousins.
