The Pit of Shekébah
The Pit of Shekébah is the former location of Anan's demonic temple while he ruled Teyvél. Shekébah translates to "Abomination". It has a strong cultural association with Shegol, as it was once Anan's dwelling place. In Emethan culture, the Pit of Shekébah and Shegol are synonymous.
Purpose / Function
The Temple served as Anan's earthly headquarters, both geopolitically and religiously. The members of his cult also dwelled here.
History
During the reign of Anan, this structure served as Anan's temple and palace. The first few decades of Anan's rule were dedicated to the construction of this detestable place. Once it was completed, Anan used it as both his dwelling place and his temple. It also served as the headquarters for Anan's own cult of sorcerers.
The temple was destroyed by Emeth upon his resurrection from the dead. Historical accounts describe Emeth laying waste to the entire structure with the breath of his mouth. Since this event, the location has been named the Pit of Shekébah. It now serves as a dump for the city of Jerua, forever lit with flames.
