This fallen Luminary is the former tyrant of all Teyvél, but was overthrown at the coming of Emeth. He now roams nomadically, laboring hard to lure as many humans away from Emeth's light, before the time of his due punishment.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Anan was originally the most beautiful of all Luminous beings. However, he became proud of his beauty and, along with one third of the Luminaries, launched a rebellion against Ellarium. However, they were defeated and cast out of heaven. Following this, Anan sought to enact veangance by persuading humanity to reject Ellarium. He succeeded and, as a result, was able to enslave humanity for centuries ruling as their god. During his rule, Anan created his own witchcraft cult bestowing on his disciples corruptive magic powers with which they kept humanity in line. Anan also forced the humans to build him an idolatrous temple where many abominations would later be committed.   Though he ruled over all of Teyvél, Anan rarely ever showed himself to the humans, utilizing the false high priests as his mouthpiece with which to carry out ordinances.   This all changed, however, when the redeemer, Emeth came to earth. By sacrificing himself on the altar of the false temple, Emeth broke Anan's power over humanity. Anan subsequently made war against Emeth but was ultimately defeated. After Emeth's ascension, Anan continued to fight against humanity, only to gain consistent losses as humanity was now empowered by Ruach. However, things changed after the Order's passion waned. Anan was able to subtly introduce heresies and falsehoods over time, gaining more influence over the people.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Successfully persuaded humanity to reject Ellarium and so fall from Ellarium's favor. Anan also became their slave master for centuries until the arrival of Emeth shattered Anan's grip over them.

Failures & Embarrassments

Anan failed to overthrow Ellarium. His hour of greatest victory was also instrumental to his subsequent defeat at the hands of Emeth. Both events caused great humiliation for Anan, fueling his hatred of Ellarium and his people even more.

Mental Trauma

Anan's greatest fear is being overpowered by Ellarium, not just through Emeth, or the Bright Luminaries, but also through the humans he once enslaved to himself.

Morality & Philosophy

Anan is the living embodiment of all evil. Any and every evil act that has ever been commited, Anan first tempted mankind to do. He is arrogant in the extreme and craves nothing less than to be worshipped by all the world.   Although he desires nothing more than to destroy humanity, he finds more satisfaction by manipulating the darkness in them to commit atrocities, forcing Ellarium to enact righteous justice against them.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Anan, knowing that Emeth intended for humans to be demon-slayers, wants nothing more than to destroy them. In order to do so, he must prevent them from realizing their true identity, and so has whispered many lies into the minds of men over the centuries.
