Texas Rising

Created by

It is the year 1835, the Mexican region known as Coahuila y Tejas is undergoing a Genesis, underneath the dictatorial rule of General Santa Anna, much of Mexico has had enough. The people of Texas, who have been brought over by one Stephen Austin, have lived for quite a while underneath Mexican rule with a little issue. Yet, with Santa Annas's increasing crackdowns on liberty and on slavery, we're not going to pretend that wasn't a thing, the people of Texas were rising to revolt. Said revolt hasn't happened yet, no, right now we are setting the day is right before the people of Texas decide to declare independence against Mexico.   At the same time, however, native tribes are having quite a bit of difficulty managing to coexist with their white settlers, which isn't exactly unreasonable considering whose land the white settlers showed up and claimed. It also doesn't help that said white settlers only want more land and are proceeding to try and annex further Indian territory. As a result, Indian/Settler relations aren't exactly doing the best, and the fact that the notorious Indian killer Andrew Jackson has been elected president hasn't exactly made things better.   Something to note is that this is an alternate history, events that may have transpired in original history may not have exactly transpired the same in this history. The reason for doing this is multifold, on one hand, it allows for me to not have to have a history book open every single time I want something to happen. On the second hand, it allows for me to actually create suspense and surprise, to any of the students of history, if I were to stick to established events they could simply go at this point, x is going to happen and be relatively correct about it. While I don't believe that players will metagame, knowing that a certain event will happen and taking certain steps to accommodate it. I also believe it is better if players are freed from such temptations. Also, I wish to emphasise the fact that history is in fact malleable, just because this is a historical game does not mean that you are tied down to history. For better or for worse, your actions will dictate the future of Texas.   The werewolf side of things is very similar to the human side, the so-called pure touched werewolves who have lived in these regions for as long as they can remember, facing the onslaught of described wyrmbringers. The biggest leaders of this charge are the Get of Fenris, arguing that anyone who is not strong enough to hold onto their territory shouldn't have it in the first place. That and the fact that the majority of the Get of Fenris in the area seem to be members of the highly racist sorts of Heimdall doesn't exactly help matters.
