City State of Bad Tolz

Whilst the City-State of Bad Tolz is by far the largest state in Teutonia its population is spars being scattered between large moorlands with much of the civilisation of the state clinging to the road that runs from north to south.

History

In 1107 the town of Bad Tolz and its surrounding villages were united and formed into the Herzogtum Bad Tolz and placed under the rule of Herzog Isileth of the ancient Moredhel family. Prior to this the vast moorlands had been home to many villages of people that lived largely independent from one another and the Empire as a whole. At the time civilisation was still wrestling for allowance into the in land Teutonia. However the construction of a new road linking the north and south on the eastern side of the Black Forest opened the area up to the rest of the world.

Demography and Population

The City-state of Bad Tolz has a population around 16 million people mainly consisting of humans and elves with large demographics of Orcs, Trolls, Ogres, and Goblins being found in the east of the state towards the badlands. The west of the state is claims the black forest but this is more in name rather than in practice, as many of the forest born do not recognise the authority of Teutonia.

Territories

Bad Tolz east and western boarders are guarded by two mighty forests. The Prohogue forest protects Bad Tolz from badland excursions in the east, whilst the dark and mysterious Black Forest protects its western boarder along with the Shetian Alps.
The southern and Northern boarders of Bad Tolz are alot more loose and difficult to determine due to the states grassy moorlands.

Military

Bad Tolz has an army of 80,000 soldiers, with 322 castles along boarders, roads, and population centres.

Trade & Transport

The Bad Tolz road runs through the city-state connecting the North and South of the Empire east of the Black Forest because of this road much trade passes through the state. The City-state of Bad Tolz utilises its vast open grasslands for the rising and breeding of horses, which are prized throughout the Empire and the main bulk of Bad Tolz economy.
