The Foundings

The earliest accounts we have of relations with the gods we've marked as the start of the Epoch of Humanity, Year 1. It is currently Republic Era (RE) Year 1657, Epoch of Humanity. The beginning of our earliest organized religions coincide with the establishment of the Republic - collectively called the Foundings. Any attempts at dating earlier events are marked as the Before Eras (BE). Many of those who were contacted by the gods became saints and founders of their current religious orders. While the meeting of these parties was instrumental in the formation of organized religion, there are actually very little accounts of any miracles, feats, or otherwise performed by the gods on this earth. They are primarily revered because of the stories of these meetings, and the tenets that each of them passed down to their first followers. We do not know where they came from or where they went, but approximately 100 years after the first meetings, our relationship with the gods changed. Many believe that with their footholds established among us, they returned home, while others believe the gods still exist in clandestine places on our continent. There is no evidence to substantiate either claim presently.

The Demarcation of the Republic

in the beginning, all civilization began in Haven, and humans staked their claim and suggested they settled the rest of the continent to take advantage of all the resources, cleverly/obviously outcasting the other races/species.

5 leaders were chosen, a human (Haven), dwarf (Salthis), elf (Dol'Deren), dragonborn (Mareotis), and firbolg (Idrik) as the first of the republic, with aim to create another foothold for civilization. Disputes of where to draw borderlines did not come until later

This record is intended to preserve the earliest accounts we have of humanity's contact with the gods.
