House Aziz
The Religious house of the Caliphate of Astrasan
Leader: Umar Astra-Aziz ll, male elf, Umar has done something that no one who has run the religion has done before… he has begun to consolidate and regulate the doctrine of the stars for the people to follow. Before now there have been various sects of the religion, some wearing burqas to hide their race, others believe in freely proclaiming their change to being starborn, others thinking war the best way to defend their religion, and others that tolerance is the better part of valor. With the birth of a true hero of the faith, he has consolidated the power of the faith born from that hero for his own purposes. It doesn’t matter if he and the hero do not see eye to eye all the time, all that matters is the power and influence she can generate for him.Champion: Imam Astra-Aziz, male human, the son of Umar, once an elf, Imam was slain in battle at the Dread Harbor, he was one of the few Astrasan warriors who took part that day and fought fiercely for Europa, risking his life on many an occasion to capture instead of kill the cultists he fought, hoping that he could preach to them and turn them from their wicked ways. When one of them stabbed him, he held the young cultist close and forgave him even as he died, that cultist soon fell as well and what happened next isn't exactly known, but Imam claims that the cultist plead to Martius to save his life after the God was banished and in what was perhaps a moment of weakness, Martius agreed, resurrecting Imam as a human so he could continue to preach his word of tolerance and conversion through peace.
Economy: Bukhara Astra-Aziz, female elf, wife to Umar, Bukhara has spent her time and money compiling a vast library that is perhaps the greatest in the known world concerning all sorts of topics, with the stars being foremost among them. She turns a profit by charging admission into this library and uses these funds to send out more teams to collect, find and buy yet more books to fill her shelves. She can often be found wandering these halls, aimlessly reading new books as if searching for some kind of information, what it is she never tells, not even to her husband.
Magic: Imar Astra-Ghazali, male human, a powerful mage with an even stronger sense of right and wrong, he is a fierce opponent to the Sultana herself and despite being bested in duels by her before, he always comes back stronger with new magics and powers. He sees it as his duty to dethrone her so that the proper order may be restored and to that end has been amassing followers to protest her rule as often as they can, though their numbers are few, they are growing with the Sultana's recent departure from public eyes.
Military: Taymiva Astra-Aziz, female elf, the daughter of Umar and a staunch traditionalist who believes in Jihad as the only way of properly spreading religion, she often cites the old elven empire's power as the source for this and dreams of a day in which the Caliphate has conquered all of Europa under her guidance, so that the shackles of the Gods may finally be thrown off and all can revel in the worship of the stars. She believes so firmly in this that she refuses to abide in the presence of non-believers and will often attack or leave if she finds herself there. She is an inspiration to the other Jihastral who view her as their unofficial leader.
Diplomatic: Ishtar, female elf, a powerful mage whose true age is unknown, though her magical prowess and beauty rivals that of the Sultana herself, she uses her beauty and magic to charm and seduce an array of followers who worship her as the true avatar of the stars as she seeks to usurp the Sultana from her throne. She is vain and prideful, with a popular belief among her detractors stating that she doesn't even worship the stars, instead she worships herself or perhaps Tarsil or Vonaya and its rumored that she is a elven noble from before the Devastation seeking to regain her former station of control over vast swathes of the world. She is considered by many to be the true leader of the house, with Umar and the others under her spell somehow, and this is most prevalent in the young Muhammad, who she is conditioning to be her Sultan.
Religious: Muhammad Astra-Mahi, male human, a young man blessed of visions from the stars and a great and terrible power he tries to contain. He can inspire others with a few words and has accidently set of Jihads in the past with nothing but a sentence, he is a rising star that many think will challenge the Sultana for her position though the Sultana hardly seems worried and instead has invited him to private discussion on a few occasions, from which both seem to leave happily. Muhammad doesn't seem to realize he is a pawn in a game larger than himself and longs to return to a time when he was simply an unknown fisherman.
