Biological Traits

Yuki-Onna are able to harness the power of the cold itself, in some cases surpassing the Ice Witches of Russ in their ability to harness the cold. The cold also reinvigorates a yukki-onna, able to heal from very cold environments or spells. However, this comes at the expense of being extremely vulnerable to fire and heat and thusly the yuki-onna prefer to keep away from fire as much as possible. One curious trait si that upon death, a yuki-onna will melt into a puddle of water, seemingly the ice in her body melting away.
What makes many question if the yuki-onna are some type of vampire descendants is the fact that they can drain the life energy from an individual in a similar manner to vampires, but unlike vampires they are not driven by this hunger, and can subsist off of normal foods just as easily

Genetics and Reproduction

Yuki-Onna reproduce sexually, with a gestation period similar to humans. However, offspring no matter the parring will always come out as yuki-onna, and only as females

Due to their cold nature, Yuki-Onna prefer either freezing cold environments or environments that don't reach too high of temperatures

Due to the natural barriers surrounding Kantō, most yuki-onna never leave their island home

Many yuki-onna are seen wearing traditional Kantō dresses and kimonos

History

No one is entirely sure of the origins of the yuki-onna, as with many yokai it is believed they were simply always apart of Kantō. However, some evidence lies that they were some form of vampire during a rumored "Nightmare Migration" where vampires secretly migrated around the world. If this vague evidence is to be believed, the first yuki-onna were vampires who somehow evolved using spiritual magic on the snow covered alps of Kantō. Overtime, this would lead to what people now know as the yuki-onna

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

While in the wider world vampiric creatures are seen as something to be hunted, in Kantō, such strange spirits and creatures are viewed differently. While not all yokai are allowed to walk amongst wider Kantō society, those civilized yokai that don't actively and continuously harm the people of Kantō are regarded as just another race inhabiting their island home and one that should have the same rights as any other civilized individual. While there are many stories of yuki-onna draining the life energy of a person and freezing people alive, in truth not every yuki-onna actively seeks to harm people, preferring simply to keep to themselves, so they are allowed to walk amongst the people of Kantō without much hassle
