Ul'zud has many tomes of forbidden knowledge, and it is said that his library holds the secrets to nearly everything. It is also believed that parts of his body, cloned while he was asleep, are scattered throughout the world. These artifacts are said to be the source of unimaginable power, at the cost of the finders sanity. It is also said these artifacts contain a portion of his consciousness, and he can talk through them to whoever finds them. However it is also said that these body parts may be the key to completely killing him, and so even his enemies must search for these body parts scattered across the world.

Personal history

In truth, the knowledge of this dreaded individual is shrouded in mystery. None truly know his origins, however some believe he has been around since the Ishtar Empire. Regardless, it seems that during the fall of the Ishtar Empire, Ul'zud (his original name is completely unknown) would take steps to extend his life, and thus became one of the first liches. However it seems the process wasn't entirely refined, and he was put into a deep sleep for a million nights. In that time his tower would rot, but remain upright, for it is said his magical energies did preserve his works.   After a million nights, he would suddenly awake from a group of necromancers trying to harness his power. He would easily butcher them, and turn them into his first thralls. He would then spend time sending minions of undead constructs out into the world to get a feel for how the world had evolved without him. It is believed he found it disgusting, with these so called civilized nations squatting amongst the ruins of his mighty ancestors, and amongst his property. He would travel to a great field in the Empty Range, that was inhabited by the Hell Tribes, and would cast a spell. The damned tribals were shocked and terrified when suddenly the ground would shake and countless skeletal hands would breach the ground, before the skeletons slaughtered any man, woman, and child in the tribes. Such kills simply added to the army under the thrall of Ul'zud.   After that not much is known, however dread tales tell of cults dedicated to a great skeletal king, a king who has escaped death forever. Strange storms of green light bloom over the empty range, and some fear that an army of undead may soon march upon the world.
