The Swinefolk Hordes

Down in deep, long abandoned aqueducts and ancient waterways, the swinefolk breed, and plot, and slaughter, and eat. They proliferate unseen and unchecked. They are insidious as they are numerous. They raise debased, disgusting idols and effigies to whatever foul god they seem to worship, and they have proven to be a menace to all decent life. While they typically remain hidden in their flesh and corpse ridden hideaways, they sometimes travel out to acquire more meat and corpses for whatever file purposes they see fit. They breed quickly, pray we can slay them even faster.

Structure

Unkown but some reports of a "King" and many "Swine Princes" have been heard but not entirely confirmed. Priests have also been reported but they prefer to stay out of combat and have proven hard to apprehend or slay.

Culture

Not much is known about their culture, however it seems they have a very might makes right society, with some infighting among swinefolk seeking to rise in the ranks being reported. Other then that, very little is known as they do not have a written language. One curious note is how they reproduce, with it seems the theory and some scattered reports are that the swinefolk get the corpses of pigs and humans and incant strange and vile eldritch rituals to summon entities from the Void Realms, and these entities morph the body and become new swinefolk.

Public Agenda

Unkwon, but most likely to kill and eat anything that isn't one of them.

History

No one is entirely sure their precise history, however some theories do exist. The most common theory is around the year 3940, a strange eldritch comet passed over a large pig farm, where a few fresh pigs had died. These strange eldritch energies, combined with the fact this farm was located in the Deadlands, would morph and change the pigs, as some say eldritch entities invaded these bodies and would morph and twist them into horrid nightmare mockeries of pig and man. They would scatter across the world in ancient tunnels of unknown purpose, some suggest the Ishtar Empire once made these, and there they would grow their numbers. Since then they have become an ever present thorn in honest mortal life, and adventuring missions to clear them out are always abound.

Territories

They are scattered across Nilush in long abandoned and forgotten ruins and tunnel systems, however some reports that some have somehow ended up in Orliea.

Religion

They seem to worship a strange entity known only as Vrathl'zhan. No information is known about its rites or doctrines besides it seems to give the swinefolk power, and also is drawn on strange effigies and totems made of blood and viscera.
