The Order of Golden Light

The warriors of the Golden Light believe that the Flame has divinely chosen them to vanquish all traces of evil in the world. All heresy is to be exercised, for heresy brings terrible damnation. They will ride out into the world to vanquish all evil, and bring about the merciful light of the Flame and the Light Pantheon.
Divine Origins
Thunder, the fire in the sky. That is what exemplifies the Flame's chosen mortal servants. Thunder and lightning are powerful gifts from the Flame to remind the world of its terrible power. it is said that long ago, when the city of Aramoor was built, and the great cathedral was constructed, the priests would receive visions that the Flame and the Light Pantheon would demand a selection of men and women to come to the highest point in the cathedral. Upon sending this brave and divinely chosen group, the doors behind them shut, not to be opened for 100 years.
In that time they were taken, it is said they were brought to a previously unknown realm, the realm of Requius. It is a small realm but no doubt a mighty one, as this group was taken by angels to be trained under them. They were filled with holy magic, and given the mightiest divine weapons. They were also granted the power to be one with lightning, so that they may literally ride the lightning into battle.
It is said that after 100 years, a great and terrible demon incursion occurred, trying to destroy Aramoor and ravage the population. It was when the demons started to get to the Cathedral, where much of the early population was hiding, that the doors suddenly swung open from the highest point and lightning would shoot out. The lightning arced and curved and landed in between the demons and the citizens, before holy golden warriors, changed and blessed by the Flame, would charge fourth. They would fight with divine arrow, holy magic, and lightning infused hammers and axes. They would vanquish the demons and from then on, The Order of Golden Light would be formed, the mightiest of holy orders pledged to the Church of the Flame.

Granted Divine Powers
The warriors of the Golden Light are chosen through visions by some of the wisest priests of the church. Once chosen, they are brought to the realm of Requius, where they will spend years upon years being changed and turned into a mighty sentinel of the true faith. They stand around 8ft tall, and are filled with divine magic. it is said that when they die, they explode into lighting as their soul goes straight into the Flames personnel realm, being embraced by their true god at last. They are granted power over lightning where they can even ride lightning bolts as a form of teleportation, and also channel it to smite their enemies. They are highly trained and all master warriors in their own right.
Political Influence & Intrigue
The Order of Golden Light is the mightiest crusader order in the world. Though they are small in number, they make up for it in their almost unmatched martial prowess. They are seen as the bulwark of the church, and its very common to see them march in parades for the church. Occasionally, an individual from the order will go out into the world seeking great evils to vanquish, and effectively go out on their own into the world to become a form of crusading knight.
