The Knights of Kelckoo
The academy of Lunerra is a wonderous place, but also a dangerous one. The local Akinstone deposits have greatly changed the land, and morphed the many creatures into wonderous and wild things. Bandits and other such foriegners may at times try to sneak into the nearby land in attempts to loot arcane artifacts and other such treasures. While the Articles of Astran let Lunerra have full soveringty upon their lands, so it falls ot them to patrol the land as well. However, wizards much prefer to spend their time studying and pondering the arcane, and wizards are not well suited to druding fights in water chocked lands. So aide this, the signers of the Artcles of Astran approved of a new knighthood to be drafted up and staffed inside the realm of Lunerra. These laid down the foundations for the eventual knighthood: The Knights of Kelckoo, so named after the magical Kelckoo bird native to the area and its feathers. Though their knighthood was delayed in its offical founding thanks to Church meddling, it was founded for the sole purpose of defending the land of Lunerra and its intrests, while also being strictly a policing force rather than a millitary one. This was heavily stressed by the Church, and though there was alot of grumbling it was agreed upon by Lunerra itself.
These knights are regal looking, typically described as majesticly colored in vibrant pigments of blue and red. Their armor is both cerimonial and practical, being light and manuverable while also highly protective. A curious thing of note however, is they are highly specalized in dealing with magic users or enemies that can cast spells. While it may seem bizzare that knights tasked with guarding a wizard school are trained to fight wizards, it makes sense considering most of the threats they have to deal with are: rogue magic users, rebellious mages, magic infused monsters, and outsiders with some level of intrest in arcane matters. For this reason their armor and shields are made with material that helps in disipating and blocking magic attacks, and its not uncommon for a Kelckoo Knight to block magic missiles easily with their shield. While they are a loyal knighthood stationed in the outskirts of Lunerra, there is some talk that the church has been quietly sowing dissent admist the Kelckoo knights of Lunerra as of late. Perhaps apart of some grand scheme tor id the world of arcane academies and the like, though time can only tell what will happen.
