The Devourers
Mythology & Lore
The debased mythology of the Devourers revolves around something known as The Bleeding Stone, a very strange aberration-based entity. It leaves signs of where it will appear next, and so the Devourers migrate to follow it around. They believe that this Bleeding Stone is how their great god communicates, for every time it communicates it spews blood form the top to leak to the bottom. The Devourers believe that they must consume and offer up flesh to this great stone to appease their god, and for this they are granted visions of the true faith, true purpose, and power and feasts.
Divine Origins
The Devourers exact origins are unknown, however its suspected that they were a tribal group of nomads from Aldinnheimr who would migrate to Vebastonne. They would head to the mountain regions of the land. It is there that they would see a great red bloody comet would fall from the sky and hit in the mountain range. They would explore this crash site and that is when their god "The Bleeding Stone" would speak to them, filling them with want and hunger. This hunger would amplify their already desolate living, and drive them all mad. They would then go out and rampage around the land, feasting on the flesh of unlucky travelers and adventuring bands. They would migrate around after their Bleeding Stone would fly back into the air, and from then they follow the stone to keep in communion with their insane god.
Cosmological Views
While they sometimes call it simply the bleeding stone, in truth they worship a strange god known only as Xiorveth. Weather this god is a demon, some aberration, or real at all is unknown. This Xiorveth speaks to them through the Bleeding Stone, acting as sort of a way for him to interact with the Mortal Realm.

Worship
They mainly give praise by sacrificing captives and meat on altars in front of the Blood Stone, and they believe the act of devouring meat is in itself an act of worship.
Priesthood
Those who join this cult are insane in the extreme. They typically only regain their numbers within their tribe, however a few demented and insane cannibals' join their ranks form time to time, if they can convince them not to eat them right there. Despite being but tribals, they are highly organized and with all their scavenged weapons and armor they are quite formidable in their own right, which is a testament to how large they have grown and how they have avoided destruction for so long.
Political Influence & Intrigue
The Devourers Cult tribe have long been a thorn in the side of civilization across the lands of Nilush, preying upon the weak and the defenseless and any who would try to hunt them. Despite being nearly decimated multiple times, they always seem to bounce back shortly after.
