Shinchū
Basic Information

Humanoid
Biological Traits
Shinchū possess many moth like features, owing credence to once being moths before the intervention of the Kami gods, this being darkvision, antennae, and an extra set of arms. These extra arms are weak and cannot support holding heavy items like weapons but can be used to carry and interact with light objects and materials. They are also inherently magical, for those made to help fight off the oni of the Weeping Lands must be armed in magic to help fight off the demons. They also possess wings that vary in size, but this helps them fly for 1 hour before they began to glide down to the ground. Larger wings lead to taller Shinchū.

History
It is said long ago the Kami gods Armanotsa and Tsukuyon became distraught when their brother they thought had died, Zankoku, formed the weeping lands and vowed to destroy all that his siblings and parents held dear. Hachi would ramp up the wars fought by mortals to better prepare the samurai for war against the corrupted yokai of the mists and the oni form the Weeping Lands, while Izana and Izano would meditate on what to do next, and Raiden would strengthen his storms in case the enemy came from the sea. All these actions were for the future, and not the hear and now, so Armanotsa and Tsukuyon put aside their minor rivalry and worked together to find a creature worthy of being elevated. They looked far and wide, but when they were about to give up hope, a single silk moth would fly and land on a leaf close by. They sensed the potential that laid in this simple, tiny creature, and so they blessed it with magic to be reborn, and so the first Shinchū were born. While at first some of the other humans looked curiously at this strange new yokai, they would soon look to them with respect and admiration for as the Wall of Heroes was still being build, the construction crews came under attack, and suddenly Shinchū warriors would sally fourth and join the samurai of the Kani Clan and fight off the oni. So it would come to be that the Shinchū would be known as the guardian yokai of the lands of Kantō, and to this day they remain as not only graceful guardians but also as wise sages.
