Planar Travel

Planar travel is truly a rare thing nowadays. It was said back then while expensive and taxing on magic users, planar travel was possible and brave adventurers would travel the planes to seek exotic places and find rare artifacts. However, ever since the failed Crusade of Light, it seems the very fabric holding the realms together is becoming more unstable by the year. Now, planar travel is incredibly dangerous, as now accurately locating the planes is a truly dangerous task, as well as any information pertaining to many of the other planes was mysteriously destroyed. All attempts at gaining an accurate map of the planes is impossible, and many travelers that have somehow managed to come back alive describe strange demons infesting the path between planes, and many come back as insane screaming madmen. Some planar portals remain, but many of the locations holding such portals are forgotten and buried far beneath the surface. Some doomsday criers say the armies of hell will bleed from these portals and consume the earth in hellfire.
Currently only the Dwarven Sky Kingdoms can safely and reliably travel the planes, and they hoard this technology for themselves, thus outsiders do not know of what technology is required to pull off such a feat
