Biological Traits
Nachzehrer are a type of beast that is believed to be a strange, savage offshoot of vampirism. Neunian scholars and hunters believe that perhaps they were some of the first failed experiments of vampires by strange and dark powers. Regardless, Nachzehrer hunt in packs and are not sentient at all. They are however incredibly clever, and will ambush their prey to devour them. Their want for flesh is unrivaled, and will even stop fighting in the middle of battle to devour corpses of the fallen, even their own fellow Nachzehrer in many cases. This makes them incredible dangerous foes, and they are a plague to the civilized world, in some cases literally as they carry many diseases.
Genetics and Reproduction
Nachzehrer are a supernatural type creature, and said to only be born by dead bodies who have died as a result of suicide, plague (the first one to die in a group of plague victims specifically), and in some cases accidental death. They will be changed in the grave, and typically dig their way out of their grave and most commonly devour their previous family first.
Growth Rate & Stages
Nachzehrer do not seem to grow as other species normally do, but it has been observed that devouring bodies can cause them to grow into different "stages" of life, and will become smaller as they do not eat for some time.

Typically prefer forests and dark places.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Incredibly carnivorous, and will devour almost anything they can find that is edible.

Facial characteristics
They have teeth as sharp as knives, and dead grey eyes. They also sport horns that grow as they devour more and become more "impressive" looking.

While they are mindless predators, they are incredible crafty when it comes to luring their prey into traps.

Nachzehrer have near perfect vision at night and in dark locations. They also have incredible scent perception capabilities, which help them hunt down prey
