Mephistopheles, Arch Devil of Deceit and Tyranny, Lord of the Eighth
The Arch-Mage of Hell, The Plotting One, The Poison Smile, The Lord of the Cruel Fist, The One who Always Plots, The Loyal Betrayer, Disputed Master of the Arcane (a.k.a. Mephisto)
With whispered word of spell and sigil, Mephistopheles plots and schemes a thousand diffrent plans to enhance his power and grant his desires. On the surface he is a oddity among the lords and ladies of hell, being a calm and rather polite Arch-Devil. He holds court fairly regurarly and is said to be a wise and harsh ruler. Betrayal is punished to nightmarish proportions but loyalty is rewarded freely. He is cool and calculating, always in control of the situation no matter how stacked against him it may be, and an aura of granduer and elegance make him seem as the more friendly of the rulers.
However this is on the surface only, for inside he is a hot-headed, obsessive devil who obsessed over the smallest details of any scheme he hatches. He is a deal maker, and he never lies on his deals, but he always makes sure that he ends up on top of any deal. If a scheme is foiled or dsicovered, he rages within the privacy of his tower with a fury that would make many quake in fear. He hates interuptions when he is engrossed in his studies of magic and trickery, and has been known to kill countless servants that he feels have interupted him, in fact he only allows a few demons and devils to speak to him without being spoken too. He rules from the shifting and of the eighth realm of hell, Arsgoitar. This realm is one diffrent from the others, being a land of heat but also ice plains forming in the major areas. Strange eldritch mirrors dot the land and it is said if one looks into them they will see themselves surronded by an angel and a devil, whispering sweet lies into both ears.
The young and naive spellcaster is what Mephistopheles loves to recruit cultists from the most. He and his devils always approach them when they are seeking more knwoledge and power. He always has it asked if they are sure they are ready to give up the gods for power, which while it may seem conter productive it is actually to play on their insecurities. It is to play on the desire to do better and prove others wrong, and so far too many fall to his ploys. He is the whispered words in the tyrants ears of conspiracy and traitors being under every smile, the spell that never dies. The only thing we can be thankful for is that despite his intelligence, his obsesseve nature means he sometimes have a hard time seeing his schemes completed, or his discoveries finished. Quite often while researching something he will become distracted by something else, and so many of his schemes lay unfinished. Some believe this may have been a flaw purposefully implanted into him by the Dark Lord himself, for it ammuses the Dark Lord to no end that the lord of tyranny is not the ruler of Hell. It angers Mephistopheles to no end, and for this amusment the Dark Lord may have made it so he will always be dsitracted from completing his ultimate goal: to overthrow the king of hell and become the ruler of all the infernal plains himself. As of recently he has been dsitracted fighting and warring with both Beelzebub and Baphomet, for their constant nagging and annoyance to him has reached a boiling point. Though baphomet has begun to acclaim some power over sorcery himself, Mephisto is still the undisputed master of the arcane in the hells, and he will be damned if anyone takes that title from him.

- Always move forward, seek out new knowledge, for to become stagnant is to suffer, and to learn is to become more powerful
- Magic is the pathway to new heights of knowledge and power. Use it.
- Scheme to bring about the end of "civilized" society, topple foundations of law and order when found for they do not listen to Mephisto
- Always make sure your rule is secured by killing any possible course of dissent and rebellion
- Never reveal your true intentions to anyone that cannot be disposed of easily, even those closest to you
- Look forward, for you have already given up the promise of the Heavens, look instead to the future of the Hells
