Personal history
None truly know where Malarous came from. Some theories exist but nothing more. Some believe he was but a simple undertaker from Diosia that went completely mad. However another theory tells of him being a tribal nomad in one of the hell tribes in the south pole. His tribe was dedicated to Mozras since he was born, and shortly after he was born he became ill with a plague that left his face into a horrifying visage. This would leave him to don a cowl form an early age, however he was celebrated for truly Mozras has blessed him. This message would shape the way he lived his life, for he was truly a blessed one, and he became fast friends with the chieftain's family later in his life. However this all would come to ruin as while out hunting, a rival tribe dedicated to the Arch-Devil Doroganol wiped out Malarous's tribe.
The theory is a bit hazy, but supposedly he buried all the bodies himself, and then took a great scythe and began to wander randomly in the direction of the World Spear. It is said he somehow wandered into the realms of hell. This was a test by Mother Mozras, to test his loyalty to her. The trials were supposedly horrific, and every trial brought new disease and pain. However he wandered still, and would stand before Mozras herself and ask for the power of death and ruin itself. It was granted bountifully, and he was changed forever.
The rival tribe did not stand a chance, for they were all butchered like animals. He would then take one of their horses for himself, and would ride. Wandering was his life, and death was not to be something to be planned. However, during his rampages through the world, his luck run out. He had corrupted, and killed entire villages in Vebastonne before several Lilian Knights were able to lance him down and slay him. His body was taken by some of his followers during the battle, and taken back to a mountain near his birthplace to watch over the land even in death. This is where the story ends as his body lay there upon a throne of rotted plants and puss filled skulls.
However dreadful tales whispered in taverns and inns across the world tel of a storm of crows leaking puss and bile blackening the sky, as the aroma of death and disease waft into the air, and a single cowled rider can be seen in the distance. Malarous is whispered to return, under the banner of Nika, and pray to the Flame that these tales are just that, tales to scare friends.
