Culture

Those few humanoid tribes who do live in the lands live a life of abject cruelty. Considered little more than thralls, the tribes worship and give offerings to the Naga as their gods, and to stave off their unending wrath. They live short lives due to the demons, elements, diseases, wild monsters, and their cruel masters. They have long since abandoned any idea of rising up against their masters, and instead worship and revere them as benevolent gods. In truth, the Naga simply have elders and shamans instill lessons of obedience into the thralls, and they only keep them around to sate their bloodlust and to give them a nice stock of test subjects for their magical biological tests.
The Naga are a matriarchal society, where the Queens are in charge of all, ruling as sorcerer-scientists. They are obsessed with the furthering of their knowledge, and are a bloodthirsty lot. They are snake like figures, sometimes having two, four, or even six arms. They are said to be born from the ancient gods of the world, and some even suspect might be related to the long dead Ishtar Empire. They are also highly skilled in molding flesh through magical and scientific means. This led them to creating the Yuan-Ti, their favored children. While Naga seemingly cant reproduce naturally and must due it through horrifically gruesome rituals, the Yuan-Ti are more natural, and so rule as a sort of noble class amongst the Kalitans. They are all a strange, insidious, and secretive lot, and while many adventurers travel into their lands either by mistake or to loot their lands, very few ever return, and those that do are driven mad.

History

In truth, very little is known of the Kalitans. What is known is it seems they were the ruling class of people in ancient Al-Hinoso, and were said to eb a terrifying and cruel race of snake like people known as Naga. They are said to be masters of morphing and twisting flesh to their liking, and have a thirst for blood to rival a vampires. However, eventually the gods of the Al-Hinoso would bring about the fall of the mighty empire. However, it seems the gods did not get all of them, for the Naga still live deep within their demonic and bloody forests. It is said the screams and wailing of thralls can be heard deep within their temples, as they craft new life and style themselves as the gods of their land. Woe be onto any who enter this territory unprepared.

Demography and Population

The Kalita Empire is said to be home to evil and terrifying Naga, as well as their many thralls. It is also home to a strange type of people known as Yuan-ti, said to be the greatest success of Naga bio-magical manipulation.

Territories

The Kalita Empire is located deep within the Forest of the Naga, which itself is in Al-Hinoso of Orliea.

Foreign Relations

The Kalitans do not talk with any outside their little temples, save for gloating how they will experiment on those entering their territory, and that they should bow down to them, the true gods.
