Biological Traits

Jinnborn are a curious sort, in that they are so similar yet different from what people may assume them to be, such as genasi. That is because Jinnborn were said to be a creation of Genies, rather than just their children. This means that they have a curious dependence on the desert, needing to meditate for a day at least once a year in a desert or arid like environment. This is believed to show their connection to the mystical sands of Carall, and if they don't do this they apparently grow slightly weaker though not to the point of dying. All Jinnborn are tied to a siraati, being one of the elements of air, water, earth, or fire. They are also known for being skilled at negotiation and conversation. Jinnborn are split into Speaker and Shaper roles, where the Speakers serve as guides, scouts, seekers, and elders and the Shapers serve as warriors and protectors.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Their homeland is the sands of Carall, from the Grand Desert, and have since then moved across Carall. They have in recent times been traveling across the world, for work and for their faith.

Jinnborn possess the ability to see better in the dark, a useful tool to have when traveling the sands and other far away lands.

Naming Traditions

Jinnborn names borrow words from the elemental tongues and tend to contain few syllables. Male Names: Artis, Bel’ar, Djal, Fershul, Grunz, Jorlat, Masad, Parfal, Ri’un, Yvris   Female Names: Alana, Bea’l, Cassal, Evelys, Falma, Himyra, Kayala, Nuli, Oshaa, Somnya

Beauty Ideals

Jinnborn are considered beautiful by many of the other races, so much so that many Jinnborn (especially the women) have found lucrative work as dancers for taverns or inns. This is coupled with the fact that they have a special form of dance that is considered highly attractive.

Courtship Ideals

To court a Jinnborn, it is said that of course after much of the regular dating, the two must commit to a special dance that lasts around an hour, around both their famalies or friends or even just people around the town. Many are allowed to join in as this dance is known as the raqsat alsaeada (literally "dance of happiness")

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Jinnborn tend to speak the elemental language related to their siraati, but most also speak Tajiran for ease of moving amongst the populace.

Common Dress Code

Many take to wearing clothing that is both revealing and practical for their environment. However a curious practice is to cover their eyes with either large hoods or cloth around their eyes. This practice is meant to show their devotion to walking the path, and that even when blind, they still walk the path with grace and humbleness.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

The core philosophy that drives jinnborn, regardless of their station, is siraati—a mystical path that jinnborn believe is their spiritual and cultural guide. Intrinsic to being sab siraat is the belief that the Djinn who created the first Jinnborn set them on a path to the Hidden World, a land of plenty and fulfilled desire, free of the harsh desert realities, and unspoiled by the plots and greed of the pathless. Sab siraat are divided along elemental lines, like the jinn ofWiseman

History

Jinnborn are said to be creations based on Genies rather than their children. It is said that long ago, before the coming of Arkka and during the time when Tajir was nothing but nomadic tribal groups wandering around, a Djinn dreamed a dream. He dreamed of a people wandering upon the wind, walking gracefully across the howling winds. Suddenly, this Genie ceased to be, and his scene literally split into several new people, being the Jinnborn (they refer to themselves as the sab siraat). Since then they have wandered the sands and the world, hoping to find enlightenment and inner purity.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Due to their looks and their rather peaceful faith, most have either positive opinions of the Jinnborn or at the very least completely neutral opinion of them. They in turn view the world with happy eyes, a rare thing this day and age, though while some may think they are naïve, they are very aware of the great dangers of the world, and are ready to fight if need be.
