House Omrach

Travel and discovery are important to House Omrach, who seek to always stay on the move. They are very secretive and untrusting of others, even by Drow standards. They must always be careful of spies of other houses seeking to kill them out of jealousy for their seeming success in the wake of annihilation. They typically make temporary dwellings in caves inside mountains, and so they tend to favor very mountainous regions. Some have also taken to traveling in the sands of Carall, for the Tajiran desert nomads share much in common with this house, with some even holding a begrudging respect for the desert nomads, albeit still occupying a superior position above such a race of course.
Faith is also important to House Omrach thanks to their houses very deep ties to the priesthood of Lolth. Many see the Underdark Cataclysm as a divine punishment for growing too weak and angering Lolth. So they seek to more then others adhere to Lolth in nearly every action they take in life. Every act must be a sign of ones worship to the spider goddess. Even with Lolth's imprisonment, they now see it as their holy purpose, to free her from her bondage and restore the Underdark. It is the greatest struggle, and their grand crusade they must undertake to free Lolth and restore balance to the dark pantheon. So Drow of Hosue Omrach can be typically seen following vague rumors and esoteric clues that may lead them to discover who has imprisoned Lolth, and more importantly how to free her from her chains.
History
Long ago, House Omrach would find its beginning in humble origins. Ascending to the status of Great House thanks to its ability to corner the exotic spice market, and also having many family ties to the priesthood of Lolth. It would continue to grow under the guide of its Matron Mother at the time, one Yasrena Omrach, who gained the position after assassinating her mother and father, of course no one else was able to find out.
While she was Matron Mother however, her power began to wane and fracture, as the other Great Houses would slowly but surely pick and prod at her powerbase. The many skirmishes and assassinations House Omrach had to fight were countless, as many also wanted access to their exotic spices. After thousands of years, the only thing keeping it up as barely a Great House was its deep roots in the Church of Lolth. However, quite possibly the greatest stroke of irony would befall this Great House in the greatest of tragedies. The Underdark Cataclysm claimed 60% of the total Drow population, however not only was most of Hosue Omrach's population able to escape, but also with it much of its spice stocks. Therefore when the other houses had to hide under the watch of surface dweller nations in massive run down immigrant towns, House Omrach took to caverns inside great mountains more united then any of their other houses. However, they knew that the other houses would seek to usurp their bases wherever they made them, so they took to traveling nomadically across the world, with their current Matron Mother Zaraste Omrach decreeing that they shall travel across the lands, holding to the true faith of Lolth wherever they go.
