Glerentour, The Vebastonne Academy of Sorcery

Lunerra Academy was the first of the great magical institutions to offically be welcomed into the world (at least in Nilush), and with it, other nations were inspired to make their own. Such as it is that though Vebastonne is fiercly independent from their neighbohrs of Ashenfeld, many of the magically gifted Vestoni would eventually see the wisdom in a centralized school of wizardly learning, however much like the Vestoni themselves, this school is diffrent from Lunerra.   Vebastonne is a place of tradition, with many of their practices not having changed at all since their inception several thousand years ago. While many focus on the chivalry and the knights of the land, the wizards and witches of the land have always been there. Much of Vebastonne history has included strange wizards and magic users in many a tale. For much of its early history before the unification (and even after) most wizards and witches were fairly isolating folk that preffered to stay on the edges of civilization. Many might even be mistake for young hags, but in truth were mostly just Hedge Mages and Witches. Most magic in Vebastonne (which due to the waves of magic flow somewhat more scarce here) was focused on Illusions, Hexes, Curses, Boons, Hedge Magic, and Spiritualism. These are perhaps the oldest types of magic in the world, and are somewhat easier to master and harness than other types of magic.   Curiously, Vebastonne has largely had less discrimination for wizardly born mortals than other nations. Many attribute this to the fey energies that pulse and permeate the land, perhaps leading most citizenry to be at least more receptive to the idea of mortal spellcasters. Of course there is still loads of superstition and uncertinty surronding arcane spellcasters, but it is noticeably less than say Ashenfeld. This meant that when spellcasters in Vebastonne sought to unite into one institution, the process was slightly easier than their neighbors. The site they chose was eventually found in the mountains left of the Viercon Forest. Said to be a sign from Morgina herself, the mountain they found had a massive crystal of Akinstone hanging upside down from a almost lunar crescent shaped formation. Thus construction began with the help of magic and was finished in around the year 600EC of Glerentour.   Glerentour is a strange structure, with few being able to say that they are a large academy built "upside down" and is a vast structure to boot. It has many rooms for students to live in, as well as grand halls and lecture halls. Its shrouded in an eternal snowfall, making it difficult for others to approach without permission and assistance from the wizards of Glerentour. Roughly 3 years after its construction, it offically adopted the Articles of Astran, so as to avoid trouble with zealous witch hunters causing problems in Vebastonne.   Glerentour, while it teaches all schools of magic that are allowed, most of its resources are focused on the old arcane arts that the wizards and witches of the past specalized in. These lead to far more specalized magic casters, but by no means are they any less potent or powerful than other spellcasters. The academy also features a grand observatory located away from the main building for quiet contemplation and study of the movment of astal bodies and the stars themselves.
