Cult of the Poisoned Fang

Hailing from tribes within the Ruins of Ishtar, the Cult of the Poisoned Fang slithers its way into the Forbidden Lands, seeking fortune and glory in the name of their many snake gods. None are sure of their origins, but some believe that they saw visions of their demonic snake gods, telling them that their blood is impure. This impure blood is what led to all the pain and suffering of the world and that the only way to purify it was to have the toxic blood of poisonous snakes run through their veins. Those lacking enough faith perished, but those who survived were considered the most worthy, and founded this warrior cult. Since then they have migrated out of the forests of the Ruins of Ishtar to fight the barbaric Hell Tribes in the Forbidden Lands, finding them impure savages, almost as bad as the "Civilized" nations past the Forbidden Lands. The Poisoned Fang fight so that one day their many snake gods will elevate them above all, and the world will either fall in line or be offered as sacrifice to their gods.

Structure

At the Top are the Purebloods, who have so much poison running through their viens that they are said to have blinding speed and unnatural reflexes. They are considered some of the most pure champions of the Slithering Ones, and are typically the leaders of their warbands. Aside them are the Coiled Speakers, shamans and priests who hear the words of their gods and even use demonic snakes as weapons. The Blooded Fangs are those warriors who have mastered the art of dueling and survived the ritual that marked them as full warriors of the tribe. Beside them as well are the Dripping Fangs, who are veteran warriors of the cult who wield a mixture of poisoned weapons to kill their foes with one cut. Finally at the bottom are the Fanglings, who are neophyte cultists who act as foot soldiers to prove their devotion to the SLithering Ones.

Mythology & Lore

The Cult of the Poisoned Fang believes that their shamans are blessed by demonic entities of both physical strength and cunning known as the Slithering Ones. They believe that these special snakes are the children of a great snake demon of old known as Zegguzan. The blood of these snakes is only granted to their most worthy followers, and so having more of their dreaded poison in one's veins is considered a sign of not only devotion but also of worthiness.   However, unknown to them, in truth they worship the Shezarkaian God Mi-amen. He has influenced this cult in order to start to gain a foothold into the Mortal Realm, and the cult is none the wiser. He makes sure that the cult believes that his many snaked form is instead simply a collection of many gods rather then one powerful vampire.

Priesthood

Those with magical ability and who have more poison flowing through their veins are the tribes shamans. They are in charge of heading their great gods, and brewing many poisons and potions to bolster their allies and fill their enemies with burning toxins. They also are in charge of sacrifices, where they typically throw captives into snake pits to be devoured as tribute to the Slithering Ones.
