Clarivre de Chambonnay, High Prophetess of Vebastonne

The Fey Enchantress, The Ladies Manifest Will, The Radiant

The history of the High Prophetess is extensive, for she has existed since the founding of the nation of Vebastonne. However she is also incredibly msyerious, always communicating with her twin goddesses inside her mind, and so little is truly known. What is known is that shortly after Lilia and Morgina left Gilles and his round table to rule the land, Clarivre would reveal herself as the prophetess of the Twins, and bequeath unto Gilles her knowledge. She would instruct: "While thou must take thy sword and ride unto war, I shall taketh upon my oneself to guide the faith of ye people, and make sure the light never leaveth the land." So it was that she was named the High Prophetess, and put in charge of all matters faithful. While the queen can sometimes insert themselves as a spirtual leader, in truth Clarivre is the true embodiment of the Twins will, and is the truest champion of their faith. In recent years she has shared her high status with the current queen of Vebastonne, Guinevere d'Courzeiu, and it is said both work very closely to keep the faith alive.

Taketh a Vow

It is said that some knightly heroes of Vebastonne will beg Clarivre for a favor. She of course reserves her favour for brave and worthy knights, and most likely grants favours to young and reckless knights whose devotion and courage burn like a blazing sun. If the knight is granted this favor, a token of this promise is taken, either being a scarf or even a tress of her divine hair.. The knight makes his pledge to never run from a fight, which is known as a ban. If one were to break the promise they made to the High Prophetess, this will incur dire consequences upon both them and Clarivre herself, and so breaking one's word to her is considered unthinkable.
