Industry and production are paramount for the skyport of Barak Gurum. They always look to maximize efficiency, for anything less could get people killed. As such, the skyport is known for not only its well trained soldiers, but also its highly efficent architecture and method of running. They build simply to get something to work, not to have it look nice, and yet there is a beauty in the simplistic and rugged nature of Barak Gurum. Those from Barak Gurum tend to be very blunt, and always look for the most efficient method of solving problems. Why waste time on worrying about the future when a problem needs to be solved here and now. While this does grant them a reputation for being humorless, in truth you will find no braver and clever Dwarf in the Elemental Planes.
History
Ruin had come to the Dwarves, for not only must they suffer the horror of bein driven from their holds, but also the embarrassment of their species being split in half. When Trelgrun told the Dwarves that followed him to scatter into the planes, those who traveled to the Elemental Plane of Fire would come across unexpected complications. Not from the terrain, as while it was hazardous it was nothing that Dwarfs weren't unused too, but instead from the local populace that inhabited it. Strange fire genies, cults, and the gilded armies of Shezarkai would harry their teams that sought to gather resources. This would present a challenge, but not something these hardy folk were unable to handle. They would fight tooth and nail for their right to exist, and though many perished, their sacrifices would help build the Sky Port of Barak Gurum. It exists still, with flowing rivers of lava falling from it, and many machines of war being developed to help resist those who would dare stand in their way.
