Humanoid, though they have digitigrade feet and other uncommon features such as long rabbit like ears.
Biological Traits
Azaline are humanoid figures with leporine features. These are primarily their feet, and their prominent and tall ears atop their head. They are naturally quite tall compared to the standard human, also helped by their specially shaped feet that help them in leaping and running fast. They are naturally able to run faster than most other humanoid races, making them some of the quickest mortal races out there. Some say they developed this to be able to run away from monsters better, while others say it aids in their wanderlust like tendencies. There are three subraces of the Azaline:
- Almiraj: Standing out admist their Azaline cousins, the Almiraj are the strongest physically in terms of their race. They typically grow muscle easier and are known to be boisterous and ambitious. A curious trait of theirs is their highly reinforced skull, that allows them to headbutt opponents if needs must. They are also known to have piercing eyes that historically have been used to intimidate others when fighting or trying to get what they want. Despite their "brutish" appearance at first, they are considered some of the most supportive companions amongst the Azaline, if maybe a bit competitive.
- Lunar: There is a story that this race is the result of ancient Azaline jumping to the moon, and after a time hopping back to the mortal realm. While others say they are perhaps an offshoot of lunar elves, lunar elves are still a very real subrace of the azaline. They have better vision at night, and seem to naturally be more tuned to tapping in to magic and the harnessing of spells.
- Phooka: Perhaps the most common of the race, Phooka are the most sociable of the race, and as such have spread far and wide across the world. They are known as pretty (though in truth the whole race is known as beautiful) and are always seeking new experiences to search for and live with. Furthermore, they are also, unofficially, known as incredibly lucky, like how rabbits are typically associated with luck.

Geographic Origin and Distribution
Due to their penchant for exploring, finding companionship, and other such "hedonistic" delights, they have spread across the entire world fairly easily.

While visual sensory capabilities are standard save for a specific subrace, all Azaline have far greater ranges of hearing than most other races.

Naming Traditions
Azaline names have roots in the sylvan language, which were adapted to more common tongues. Generally speaking, an azaline's name is long, but in conversation they shorten their own and each other’s names to the first few syllables. The azaline’s habit of shortening names is extended to other races as well.

History
The story of the Avarine is not entirely well known. However, much of our knowledge points to the Wyld Realm and the fey, much like many of the more strange yet familiar races in the world. Some say that they were once fairies who turned rabbits into taller beings, perhaps for some sort of joke or prank. Regardless, the end result was the Azaline hopping into the mortal realm, apparently falling upwards from a deep hole in the Great Dale Woods. Surprisingly, there was not much hesitation in embracing the Azaline amongst the other mortal races, as their natural charm and appearance made it quite easy for them to integrate into wider societies. Thus, the azaline have become a staple amongst most city environments, and are always either traveling or reveling in the desires of life.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Very much always looking to explore their whims and desires, the azaline are known for being rowdy and passionate, espically their love of families meaning they like to create big families with their partners. Regardless of their free spirited desires, they are hard to find much fault with due to their outgoing attitude, and so most people do not have any real problems with the azaline.
