Anatomy
The top half of the Alseid are elven humanoids, with their bottom half being the centaur, being a deer instead of a horse.
Biological Traits
Their deer like half allows them to move at high speeds, being excellent scouts and message bearers for the Wood elves. In fact they sport light hooves that allow them to be surprisingly sneaky, being well adapted to the forest canopies of the strange fey like forest. Their most notably ability besides their quadruped nature however, is their sense of direction. When in the forest, they magically leave no tracks, and they seem to have an innate ability to always discern where true north lies.

Alseid reproduce sexually, with a gestation period of about 11-12 months

Facial characteristics
Their face closely resembles a Wood Elf, however they also sport antlers that from from their foreheads. They grow slowly, roughly branching out every 10 years for the first century of their lives. This means that an Alseid with six points per antler would be about 60 and 70 years old. Antlers are used as a sign of status and rank among the Alseid, with those of older years being respected as great and wise elders.

Alseid typically live within the Great Dale Woods, being a valued member species of the Wood Elven Kingdoms.

Due to the elven heritage, the Alseid have the darkvision ability of typical elves.

Naming Traditions
Alseid names are a combination of Elvish and Sylvan syllables. This means many of their names are long, and so most choose shorter nicknames for themselves when speaking with people who aren't elves of fey or the like. They also do not sport family names.

Like their Wood Elven kin, the Alseid are wild and free, and so typically either way minimal clothing or clothing made of natural components like leaves and wood.
History
Alsied are a mysterious race, hailing from the deep Great Dale Woods. It is said long ago, when the Wood Elves first began inhabiting the Great Dale Woods, one Elf would seek to find the god Khonir. He wished to be unmatched in the hunt, and so sought out his blessings to become a master hunter. After proving himself by hunting the most reclusive fey unicorn, waiting in one sport for 2 years without moving or even breathing, Khonir blessed this hunter with the form of the Alsied. This new form was met not with suspicion and hatred that he would've experienced in human colonies, but with awe and joy from his Wood Elven kin. Thus the Alseid were born, being strange but loyal kin to their Wood Elf brethren, and have placed themselves as valuable companions.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Due to their fey like nature, many have called them "grove nymphs", although they are more related to elves than nymphs. As such they are viewed like Wood Elves, with equal parts awe and curiosity as is fear.
